Review: Diapers

Standard

Every baby is different so it can take a few months before you truly find a diaper that will work for both you and baby. We started out with Pampers Swaddlers, Huggies Snugglers, Huggies Baby Dry, and Up&Up Diapers from Target. The Pampers Swaddlers and Up&Up Diapers were wonderful!

The Pampers Swaddlers fit well, kept O dry and didn’t leak. They are a bit pricier than we wanted to pay for diapers, but we wanted to stick with what worked. The Up&Up diapers from Target were also a good choice because they didn’t leak and also fit O pretty well. My only complaint with the Up&Up’s is that they aren’t as soft as other brands.

I wanted to love Huggies Snugglers and Huggies Baby Dry. They just didn’t work out. Every time we tried the Huggies Snugglers, they leaked. Every. Single. Time. The Huggies Baby Dry didn’t hold the enormous amount of urine our boy puts out, so they did not keep him dry overnight – and they too leaked. Although they were very soft and seemed to fit pretty well, we just couldn’t get them to work for O. I have heard from other moms they leaked for them too, but some also said they swear by Huggies brand diapers. We ended up donating the Huggies diapers we had to a mom in need. I’m just glad they went to someone who could use them, rather than in the trash.

After two months, we decided to give Luvs a try – they were nearly half the cost of  Pampers! We found that they worked wonderful for us too! They have a nice, clean baby scent and they’re fun – white and purple with a monkey on them! They don’t leak when worn overnight (bonus!) and they fit O perfectly.

All in all, I recommend the Pampers Swaddlers or Luvs brand diapers because that’s what worked for us. Every baby is different, so some diapers that worked well for us may not work for other babies. Your baby will let you know if he/she doesn’t enjoy the diapers you’re buying. You’ll know the first time you have a leak or blowout – and you can also tell by the fit of the diaper. If they don’t fit securely around your baby’s waste or legs, it’s probably too big or not the right fit for your little one. Use what works for you!

Which diapers worked well for you and your child(ren)? I’d love your opinion!
